Silvervine (or Silver Vine) is a pretty, climbing edible plant in the kiwi family that has a compound in its leaves and stems that is a lot like the active compound in catnip. 75% of cats who don't react to catnip, do react to silver vine. However, not all silver vine products are vegan and cruelty-free. Silvervine galls are caused by the fleshy larvae of small insects that grow inside silvervine stems in Japan. They are cooked alive in the stems and then ground up into a powder. Gross! We will never put dead bug dust in your home and air.
